Mario Maker has a world flipping mechanic attached to this environment, and I wanted to experiment with the strangeness of being upside down as it was something I found difficult when playing. I found that making the upside-down segments of the level slower paced and less difficult was a requirement because of how confusing that perspective tends to feel to players that have always had gravity and down in the game be interchangeable. I also selected the Kamek as the primary enemies in this level as their magic attack(which transform blocks into random objects/enemies) felt thematically consistent with flipping the world upside-down.
